The Avengers: Age of Ulton could become one of the top-grossing films of all-time, but will not be released in the US until later this week. If you are like me, you are trying to avoid spoilers for this film, but that may be the least of our worries. The folks over at Screencrush may have stumbled upon a spoiler for the special features that will appear on the Blu-ray and DVD release of the movie.
The UK branch of Amazon is already offering customers the chance to pre-order the film (it opened on April 23 in many locations, including the UK). Included in the product description is the mention of an extended version of the film and hints at a possible alternate ending.
I have not seen the latest Avengers film, so I do not know how the ending could be changed/approved upon, but this is a bit disconcerting. The Age of Ultron represents the end of Joss Whedon’s involvedment in the Avengers and it is disappointing that he could be shipping a product that he is not completely behind. I am much less disturbed by the additional/deleted scenes that will appear in the special features section, but am a little perturbed at the inclusion of a different ending.
Or, this could all be some last-minute jitters. How will The Age of Ultron live up to the original Avengers? Can it? That is yet to be seen, but I will be back with a review of this summer’s can’t miss blockbuster next weekend!
